AN INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE RECITAL BY VIDHYA BHAT

Dance Invitation below

Remember Vidhya Bhat, MIF’s model for advertising materials in 2006? To this day, when you open the web page, her smiling face still greets each visitor. Vidhya represents the youth in the festival full of enthusiasm, poise and pride in her cultural background and heritage. There are many of them with these qualities in MIF. Just like Vidhya, they started young and have grown up to be matured adults in their vocations, professions and chosen careers! Some are still associated with the festival. And those, who are no longer, are so proud of their association of years past in the festival. Vidhya’s family moved to Cary, North Carolina, but, in many ways is still part of the festival.

The Andhranatyam Nritya Pravesham of Vidhya Bhat will be presented on Saturday, August 14, 2010 in North Carolina. After the Bhat family moved to Cary, North Carolina, Vidhya discovered that there is a school that teaches classical Indian dance. She started in 2007 and has since performed in many schools and cultural events in North Carolina. She also choreographs some dances that she teaches to children of all ages.

Her gurus (teachers) in classical forms are very well-known in India and USA. They received training from the Padmasri BharataKalaPropoorna Dr. Nataraja Ramakrishna, the most respected dance teacher of Andhra Pradesh.

MIF is proud of the accomplishment of Vidhya in attaining her dream to be a classical Indian dancer.
