ALABAMA STATE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS AWARDS GRANT TO MOBILE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

 

Mobile International Festival is pleased to announce that it has a received a grant of $4,000.00 from the Alabama State Council on the Arts (ASCA), the state arts agency.

The 27th annual educational and cultural event presents “World of Languages” on November 18-19 for Student Days and November 20 for Family Day at Mobile Civic Center Main Arena and Expo Hall. It will serve over 13,000 students and teachers from counties in Alabama-Florida-Mississippi and close to 7,000 from Alabama, nearby states and overseas will attend the Family Day. ASCA grants are awarded through a multi-faceted competitive review process. This grant signifies that Mobile International Festival provides a program of artistic quality, serves the needs of the community and demonstrates high-level administrative standards, as well as enhancing education of students at all levels.

This grant awarded by ASCA is made possible through funding from an annual appropriation from the Alabama State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. This public support enables Mobile International Festival to reach new audiences, foster community development, provide the highest quality programming, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a component for quality of life in Alabama.
